Vimeo Time lapse

 VIMEO clip

For the last eight months I've been squirreling away in my painting studio working for Australian Hip Hop act Bliss n' Eso, who're about to release their new album 'Circus in the Sky'.

During the four large paintings I was working on, I some how found 2 hours available to film and paint in a good friend of mine MAYO's graffiti blackbook.

This is the product, squeezing two hours into 12 minutes.

Watch and enjoy.

Cross-Words

VNA or Very Nearly Almost magazine has been one of my favorites ever since it went to print in 2006.
Printed independently in the UK as a quarterly magazine featuring interviews with some of world's best artist/street artists, illustrators and photographers.
VNA promotes everything from wheatpastes, paint, stencils and everything in between from the streets through to gallery shows and events that bring together artists from around the world.

This is a link to a interview I did with them the start of this year.

So, read on and enjoy.

New print for Xmas

Hi there,

Well, I know how it is! No time for pretty much anything this time of year. Everyone has got to have lose ends tied, i's dotted and t's crossed.

And in these frustrating days you always forget someone's gift.

Well last Sunday I forced myself to have some painting time. I've been working on a few big projects for an Australian hip hop band, tattooing when I can, and painting a few walls on weekends.

I decided to bust out a painting in 1 hour (it took 2) and sell 100 signed and numbered A4 prints.
They're $20.00 Aus, with free P+H anywhere in the world.

So, if you're interested in buying one for a friend or partner email me at -  artprintstevecross@live.com.au and I'll get one in the post as soon as possible.

So please enjoy your holidays and take care.
Steve

Tattooist Series Part 3- Steve Cross on Vimeo

https://vimeo.com/45954162
Here's a little excerpt quote and film from the NEW ERA lads.

Thanks guys

Nowadays Steve Cross can be found operating out of the highly successful tattoo studio Korpus in Brunswick, Victoria, where he is co-owner. In this third video profiling Australian tattooists for New Era, Steve chats about his beginnings in graffiti and his transition into the B**** controlled world of Perth tattoo parlours during a time when tattooing was still underground and far from today's fashionable acceptance.

Filmed and Directed by Damian Kane (ACCLAIM Magazine)
Production Manager: Vincent Tang (ACCLAIM Magazine)
Soundtrack by Ta-Ku

Click the link * cute suite

2 gorgeous birds and 1 diamond « cute suite

Thanks to the amazingly informative fashion blog- CUTE SUITE I have a small cameo.

Last August while chilling in Barcelona I was given the privilege to paint some brand new roller-shutters for an up and coming cafe/bar named CARAVELLE - A now beautiful venue in leafy C/ Pintor Fortuny 31, Barcelona.

Caravelle is the creation of Australian owner Zim Sutton. I met him through 2 friends of mine who were helping construct the interior of the place.
Zim told me he had moved to Barca some time ago, and after a good stint in London with a string of successful cafe/restaurant endeavors under his belt, he was itching to create something new and fresh for Barca, keeping in mind the old tradition of 'the meeting place'. A place were you can catch up with friends, have great conversations and watch Barcelona walk on by, and trust me, it doesn't always walk.

So if you're ever in his neck of the woods, check out the 2 birds I painted on ol' Zim's place Caravelle.
And even though I'm on the other side of the world I still check out his menu.
Enjoy

Instagramalam

Well, it's been a while since I last posted (life's pretty busy these days) and I often think of this blog hating the fact that it's all alone.

So, here's a new post-

Instagram has become the new and easiest way for artists of all professions to expose themselves- No, not in that way, but in the way of instant image upload. I rejected it at first, thinking it's another "Thing" I have to keep on top of. Well, after about 7 months on,  I've seen more amazing images, paintings and photos than ever before, and have also made many a friend. Yes, I've embraced it!!!

Here is a link to my instagram-alam-alam profile. Look at it, like it, poke it and maybe share it!. But what ever you do, make sure you enjoy it!!!.

Secret Walls Australia

video - Secret Walls Round II
Secret Wars is the worlds premier live art battle. Originating from East London, UK, Secret Wars has spread word fast and is now sprouting up in different cities all around the globe. It is the Fight Club of the art world and it has now landed in Australia.
The rules are simple… artists have 90 minutes to paint their piece, Black on White, 2 Judges and a Crowd vote decide the winner. Go BIG or go home!
I battled the talented Conrad Bizjak a very cool guy with a very productive future ahead of him.
I will admit it was a close battle and the art gods were in my team that night so I took out the win.
Cheers to Conrad for being an all round top bloke. Check out more action and winning board at
